Paul Poovey - Trumpet Since completing his musical training from UNC-Greensboro (B.M. in Trumpet Performance, 1996) and the University of Missouri (M.M. in Trumpet Performance, 1999), Paul settled in the thriving metro-Atlanta area, where he enjoys life as an active freelance player and teacher throughout the Southeast. In addition to serving as Interim Principal Trumpet with the Tuscaloosa Symphony for the 2006-07 season, he has performed with the Atlanta Opera, Cobb Symphony, Columbus Symphony, Gainesville Symphony, Ludwig Symphony, Macon Symphony, New Atlanta Philharmonic and Ocmulgee Symphony. Since 2002, Paul has held the Principal Cornet position with the award-winning Georgia Brass Band (GBB), and he has been featured as a soloist with GBB as well as the Roman Festival Brass. Paul also handles the trumpet duties for the Latin Jazz group Wild Rice and is a member of composer/arranger Erik Kofoed's Mercury Season performing groups. As a private teacher, he also maintains a thriving studio of 20-30 students, where he enjoys working with players of all ages and ability levels. |

Phil Ehrmann - Trumpet As a college student, Phil had the rare opportunity to perform three times at Carnegie Hall as Principal Trumpet with the highly competitive National Wind Ensemble. He completed his Bachelor of Arts in Trumpet Performance from Northwestern University in 2003, and settled down in Atlanta, where he is carving his niche as a performer. Phil is currently a member of the Hilton Head (SC) Symphony and has appeared with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. He also performs regularly with the Macon Symphony, Columbus Symphony, Cobb Symphony, Gainesville Symphony, Atlanta Pops Orchestra, Jacksonville (FL) Symphony and Chattanooga (TN) Symphony. In addition to freelancing, Phil maintains an active private lesson studio in Cobb County.

Jay Hanselman - French Horn Jay serves as Instructor of Horn in the Georgia State University School of Music. After receiving a Bachelor of Music Education degree in 1981 from Florida State University, he taught middle and high school band in Greensboro, NC for three years. Following 17 years in the business world, Jay returned to music in 2002, pursuing his Master of Music degree in Performance at Georgia State University, where he was the winner of the Thomas M. Brumby Concerto/Aria Competition and the 2004 Honors Recital Competition. After graduating in 2004, he opened Jay's Horn Studio, comprised of over 30 private students from all around the Atlanta area. Jay conducts horn and brass clinics at schools all around the state of Georgia. He is currently second horn with the Gainesville Symphony. He has performed with the Columbus Symphony, New Atlanta Philharmonic Orchestra, Rome Symphony, Cobb Symphony, Gwinnett Ballet Theatre company, Orchestra Atlanta, and the Atlanta Pops Orchestra. He has also performed with the Emory Brass Ensemble, where he served as assistant conductor and personnel manager for seven years.

Hollie Lawing - Trombone Hollie graduated with her bachelor's degree in music performance from Georgia State University under the highly acclaimed trombone professor, Dr. Tom Gibson. Soon after, Hollie pursued graduate studies at the Cleveland Institute of Music. Now happily back in Georgia, she is an avid freelance trombonist in the Atlanta area. As a performer, Hollie has played with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra as well as the Columbus, Augusta, Cobb, Carroll, Youngstown, and Warren Symphony Orchestras, among others in various locations. She has been principal trombonist with the Carla Rosa Opera Company U.S. Tour, the Sigmund Romberg Tour, and has performed on several occasions with the Atlanta Pops Orchestra, including a four-week tour to Taiwan. Hollie is principal trombonist with the Georgia Brass Band, the only traditional style British Brass band in Atlanta. The band made another highly successful trip to Louisville, KY, coming away with second place in the honors section at the 2007 NABBA Championships. Hollie is currently the low brass instructor for the Lassiter, Pope and Kell High School music conservatories.

Bill Pritchard - Tuba Bill is a native of New Jersey. He began teaching and freelancing in Atlanta in 2001 while he was a member of the Army Ground Forces Band. Currently he plays tuba with the acclaimed Georgia Brass Band, Lafayette Brass Quintet, the New Atlanta Philharmonic, and the Ludwig Symphony. He has also performed with the Columbus Symphony. As a soloist he has appeared with the Army Ground Forces Band, the New Atlanta Philharmonic, the Ludwig Symphony, and the New Jersey-based South Orange Symphony, delighting audiences of all ages with his dynamic interpretations of both standard and lesser known works for tuba. In addition to his performance schedule, Mr. Pritchard is a dedicated teacher of his craft, giving private lessons and master classes on euphonium and trombone, as well as tuba. Bill holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in music management from William Paterson University and a Master of Arts in classical performance from the Eastman School of Music. |
